Sim is committed to being a good steward of the communities in which we live and work. We’re proud supporters and participants of many events, and organizations throughout North America:

Los Angeles

  • One in seven people in Los Angeles County experiences food insecurity. The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank has a mission to mobilize resources to fight hunger in our community. Sim is a proud supporter of this program.
  • Sim is pleased to support the Jazz Angels Youth Music Program in their mission to create an environment for playing and preserving jazz, and empowers young musicians to develop self-confidence, leadership, and group interaction skills.

  • Sim proudly supports the Greater Vancouver Food Bank providing people with access to healthy and sustainable food in a dignified manner.
  • Sim has committed to a five-year partnership with SAINTS Rescue: Senior Animals in Need Today Society, a grassroots organization based in British Columbia, specializing as an end-of-life sanctuary for senior and special needs pets and farm animals that have nowhere else to go.
  • Reel Green believes that Sustainable Production is the future of filmmaking! So does Sim. We’ve partnered with Reel Green in their efforts to enable a sustainable and thriving industry with a positive and healthy relationship with our environment and society.
  • Sim joined the MPPIA sponsored “Save the Rio” week to aid the 80-year-old Rio Theatre which has a precarious future due to redevelopment. With Sim’s, MPPIA’s and other donations we are keeping hopes alive that this grand cinema will be saved from the wrecking ball.
  • Sim team members recently broke away from meetings in Vancouver to clean up the shoreline and give back to the community. Thank you to all involved!

  • The Toronto Blue Jays Care Foundation uses baseball to teach life skills and create lasting social change for children and youth in marginalized communities across Canada. Sim is proud to contribute to their efforts.
  • The Daily Bread Food Bank believes that access to food is a basic human right, not a privilege. No one should go hungry. We at Sim do too and are pleased to support their efforts.

New York

  • Young Filmmakers Initiative is a collaboration between NYFEST (Film and Entertainment Soccer Tournament) and the City of New York Department of Youth and Community Services. The inaugural program produces nine short films, involving six after-school programs and representing the talents of over 40 middle-schoolers across the boroughs, and culminated with a screening at a Tribeca Film Festival venue in April. Sim is proud to be a part of their efforts.
  • Food Bank NYC has a mission to end hunger by organizing food, information and support for community survival, empowerment, and dignity. As the city’s largest hunger-relief organization, they employ a multifaceted approach centered on helping low-income New Yorkers overcome their circumstances and achieve greater independence. Sim is proud to support their efforts

  • Sarah Jones was a Camera Assistant who worked in the Atlanta area on movies and TV shows, including “The Vampire Diaries.” She lost her life in a fatal accident on the Georgia set of the “Midnight Rider.” The Sarah Jones Opportunity was created along with Warner Brothers Television Group and others, including Sim, to provide an annual internship dedicated to the memory of the late camera assistant. The program targets people like Sarah who have a passion for working in the film industry but need help with training and getting contacts within the Georgia film industry. Sim is proud to have been involved with these efforts since their inception.  Learn More
  • Sim is pleased to support the efforts of the Atlanta Community Food Bank, who works with over 600 nonprofit partners including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers to distribute over 60 million meals across metro Atlanta.
  • PAWS Atlanta believes that people and pets bring out the best in each other and are on a mission to build a community of caring, by helping pets and pets helping people. Sim is proud to support their efforts.  Click here to donate.

  • Red Nose Day takes place every May and Sim takes part in the awareness building effort. The international campaign to end child poverty began in the UK in 1988 and has raised over $1 billion since its launch.
  • Sim honors Doug Dales’ birthday, the founder of Vancouver PS Lighting + Grip, every May 23rd. Douglas James Dales was a mentor and supporter of many people, but most of all, he supported our ‘PS’ family that later became a part of Sim. “The people at PS are the secret to our success,” Doug often noted. He passed away on December 3rd, 2010 and will always be fondly remembered.

Sim thanks you for letting us be a part of your community.
